Dr. Irene Salinas, UNM Biology professor, was chosen as one of the Women in Immunology featured in this month's issue of Nature Immunology. The journal has been inviting women immunologists from around the globe every Women's History Month to share their experiences in the field. "Each author describes their journey and the influences that helped to shape their career path decision to enter the multi-disciplinary field of neuroimmunology. In addition, they describe their newly recognized duty to act as mentors to the next generation of neuroimmunologists," writes Nature Immunology. 

Dr. Salinas titled her piece, "Neuroimmunology, the field that welcomed me and made me want to stay", where she describes her journey so far in the field.
