Dr. Irene Salinas, Professor of Biology, has been chosen as a recipient of the OVPR Ovation Award for Research and Scholarship. 

The Ovation awards recognize full-time UNM faculty for recent accomplishments with unusually high impact, addressing local or global challenges and/or elevating the scholar's and UNM's reputation on a national/international stage.

Following feedback from UNM research leaders across campus, she was selected for an Ovation award for her discoveries about the remarkable immune system of the African lungfish. For more information about her work, check out this article.
