Research Interests:

Evolution and ecology of aquatic systems and organisms

Profile:

Our research group studies ecology, evolution, and conservation of aquatic biota in dryland regions of the world. We use time-series analyses, museum specimens and archives, elements (e.g., stable isotopes) and molecules (e.g., DNA, RNA) to document and study responses of species, communities, and ecosystems to natural and human-caused environmental change.

Awards:

  • Meritorious Teaching Award in Ichthyology, American Society of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists
  • Gila Trout Distinguished Service Award, Trout Unlimited
  • Endangered Species Recovery Champion Award, US Fish & Wildlife Service
