News from the 2015 SACNAS Annual Conference (Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science)

UNM  MARC Scholar to appear on  New Mexico In Focus

Ayse Muniz, a UNM MARC scholar (Minority Access to Research Careers) and a senior in biochemistry and Dr. Gabrial Montano, a faculty member in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, will be appearing on New Mexico In Focus on November  20th at  7:00 pm, channel 5.1. Ms. Muniz is the  President of the UNM SACNAS Lobos chapter and Dr. Montano is the current  President of the national SACNAS organization. They were interviewed by PBS reporter, Stan Wilson, prior to  the Annual SACNAS National Conference which was held in Washington DC, October 29 - 31, 2015. This year the focus of the SACNAS conference was Interdisciplinary Collaborations: The Role of Diversity in STEM Innovation. The interview focuses on increasing diversity in STEM fields.
