Dr. Manuel Molles Receives the Eugene P. Odum Award

Manuel C. Molles, Jr., Professor Emeritus, Department of Biology, was awarded recently the 2014 Eugene P. Odum Award for Excellence in Ecology Education by the Ecological Society of America (ESA).

The Eugene P. Odum Award recognizes an ecologist for out - standing work in ecology education. Through teaching, outreach, and mentoring activities, recipients of this award have demonstrated their ability to relate basic ecological principles to human affairs. This also draws attention to the importance of ecological science with a focus on student mentoring and the training of future ecologists.

This award was generously endowed by, and named for, the distinguished ecologist, Eugene P. Odum.

Professor Molles will receive this award at the ESA’s annual meeting in Sacraments, California on August 11, 2014.
