A mysterious hummingbird has recently been spotted near El Paso, TX. Birders and scientists are not sure if it is a new species or a hybrid, but they are working together to identify it. Chris Witt, professor and curator of the Museum of Southwestern Biology, helped create and make public the hummingbird genome a few years ago, and it is now being used to help identify this bird.
