lab float on the Rio Grande (April 2013)
Research in the Rudgers and Whitney Labs focuses on the ecology and evolution of plants, insects, fungi and microbes. Species interactions (particularly mutualism and herbivory), invasion biology, and the consequences of hybridization are major themes. Recent projects have been located in grasslands, deserts, forests, alpine habitats, the Great Lakes dunes, and the Samoan archipelago.
Although our research programs are largely independent, we have combined our lab spaces and run joint lab meetings to capitalize on the intellectual wealth represented by a talented group of postdocs, grad students, associates, and undergraduates. Woohoo!
