Faculty Position in Cell Biology

The Department of Biology at the University of New Mexico invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. The appointment will be the first of two hires in the area of Cell Biology, and will be probationary, leading to a tenure decision. The successful candidate is expected to maintain a nationally competitive, externally funded research program utilizing an established model organism. Applicants whose research focus complements existing strengths in the Department, which include developmental biology, molecular biology, genomics and molecular genetics, will be preferred. Successful candidates will be expected to participate in undergraduate and graduate teaching, and should be enthusiastic about working in a vigorous biology department with diverse research programs. Candidates must have a Ph.D. and at least two years of post-doctoral experience by the start date of the position. The position is available at the start of the Fall semester 2008.
