Eimeria viridis (Labbé, 1893) Reichenow, 1921
Synonym: Coccidium viride Labbé, 1893.
Type host: Rhinolophus ferrumequinum (Schreber, 1774), Greater horsehoe bat (Rhinolophidae).
Remarks: Labbé said he found this species in 2/22 (9%) bats in France; he measured a few oocysts and said there were three structural types: ovoidal/piriform (20 x 13), spheroidal (15), and piriform (6-7?), the latter with a truncated micropyle. It is likely, as pointed out by Lavier (1924), Pellérdy (1974) , and Levine and Ivens (1981), that Labbé (1893) was dealing with oocysts representing 2 or 3 species. Because he gave no illustrations and no further structural information, this form must be considered a species inquirendae, at best.
