Description of oocyst: Oocyst shape: spheroid to subspheroid; number of walls: 2; wall thickness: ~1.17; wall characteristics: outer layer smooth, colorless; L x W: 17.4 x 16.8 (14-19 x 16-19); L/W ratio: 1.0 (1.0-1.1); M: absent; OR: absent; PG: 1, small, double-lobed, often divided into two small PGs that remain close together. Distinctive features of oocyst: shape of PG.

Description of sporocysts and sporozoites: Sporocyst shape: ovoid; L x W: 11.7 x 8.1 (6-9 x 9-14); L/W ratio: 1.5 (1.1-1.9); SB: present, knob-like; SSB: absent; PSB: absent; SR: present; SR characteristics: granular material; SP: have RB at one end and disposed along longest axis of sporocyst. Distinctive features of sporocyst: knob-like SB.

Prevalence: 1 of 1 (100%).

Sporulation: Exogenous. Oocysts were stored in 2.5% (w/v) aqueous potassium dichromate solution at ambient temp. prior to examination.

Prepatent and patent periods: Unknown.

Site of infection: Unknown. Oocysts found in intestinal scrapings.

Materials deposited: Oocysts in 10% formaldehyde-saline solution and phototypes deposited in the Parasitology Collection in the Dept. of Animal Parasitology, UFRRJ, Seropedica, EJ, Brazil, No. P-012/2004.

Remarks: This species has not been reported since its original description.
