Description of oocyst: Oocyst shape: spheroidal; number of walls: 2; wall characteristics: smooth; 19.6 x 18.9 (16-22 x 16-21); L/W ratio: 1.0 (1.0-1.1); M: absent; OR: absent; PG: absent. Distinctive features of oocyst: lack of OR and PG.

Description of sporocysts and sporozoites: Sporocyst shape: ovoid; L x W: 15.1 x 11.6 (12-17 x 10-13); L/W ratio: 1.3 (1.1-1.6); SB: present. prominent; SSB: absent; PSB: absent; SR: present; SR characteristics: ~6, often appearing as an elongate aggregation of granules; SP: 14 x 2.5, with nucleus 2.5-3 in diameter and situated between slightly larger ovoid RBs. Distinctive features of sporocyst: presence of SB and SR.

Prevalence: 6 of 42 (14%).

Sporulation: Exogenous. Oocysts sporulated within 3-5 days in 2% aqueous (w/v) potassium dichromate solution.

Prepatent and patent periods: Unknown.

Site of infection: Large intestine.
