Description of oocyst: Oocyst shape: spheroidal; number of walls: 2; wall characteristics: smooth, inner wall thicker; 18.5 x 17.6 (16-22 x 15-20); L/W ratio: 1.1 (1.0-1.2); M: absent; OR: absent; PG: present, ovoid. Distinctive features of oocyst: lack of OR.

Description of sporocysts and sporozoites: Sporocyst shape: ovoid; L x W: 14.8 x 11.4 (12-17 x 10-16); L/W ratio: 1.3 (1.1-1.5); SB: present; SSB: present, conspicuous; PSB: absent; SR: present; SR characteristics: formed by an aggregate of ~15 granules; SP: 10-14 x 2-3, with ovoid nucleus 2.5-3 in diameter and situated between slightly larger ovoid RBs. Distinctive features of sporocyst: presence of SB, SSB and SR.

Prevalence: 4 of 42 (10%).

Sporulation: Exogenous. Oocysts sporulated within 3-5 days in 2% aqueous (w/v) potassium dichromate solution.

Prepatent and patent periods: Unknown.

Site of infection: Large intestine.
