Your Completed MARC Application Will Include:

1. The completed Information on our e-application. The e-application includes fields for essays. Please write an essay (1-2 pages) describing yourself, your goals, any prior experience in laboratory research, and why you would like to be a part of the MARC Program. We recommend writing the essay in a word document and pasting it into the form fields in your e-application. NOTE: When filling out the form, you can SAVE & RESUME; however, when you save your work, you will given a URL that you must save so that you can return to your current version.

2. Transcripts of all college work (unofficial is acceptable). Please send these via email.

3. Two (2) letters of reference from faculty members familiar with your coursework and who know you and your goals. Recommenders are encouraged to use this form.Ask your references to use the MARC Reference Form and to place their letter in a sealed envelope, with their signature across the seal. Letters may be given to you to deliver along with your transcripts. Alternatively, references and transcripts may be sent to marc@unm.edu, or through inter-office mail to MARC MSC03 2020.

Your Application CANNOT be reviewed until ALL documents are received.Helpful checklist for your application.

Application Process:

  • Complete this e-application. Follow directions on the application and fill in all of the questions including the essay questions.
  • Ensure that our office has received your transcripts as well as your two letters of recommendation. If you prefer, all materials can be sent or delivered hard copy.
