Our Mission
The BGSA is a support organization to give the graduate students a voice in departmental and university issues and to facilitate information exchange among the 100+ graduate students currently in Biology at the University of New Mexico. All officials of the BGSA are elected annually; elected officials serve on departmental and university committees, help delegate building space and assign teaching assistantships, take care of local recycling, design and order t-shirts, and throw parties, among many other thrilling tasks. Meetings are held irregularly (i.e., when an issue arises); all graduate students will be notified of meetings via the BGSA e-mail listserv(bgsa-l).
